Holy Communion

The Eucharist – Jesus is With Us

Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal.  We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins.  As we receive Christ’s Body and Blood, we are also nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.  For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
— John 6:53-56

Children enrolled in Christ the King School participate in the Faith Formation curriculum and prepare to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion in second grade.

For those students who do not attend Catholic School, our Sunday Youth Faith Formation Program (Y.F.F.) invites students in the second grade to prepare for First Holy Communion by participating in Online Classes. In person classes will be held once every six weeks for both students and their parents in the Church.
