|A Message From the Pastor
To all parishioners at Christ the King … It always amazes me how far in advance some people make plans to travel. Take, for example, the fact that as soon as the Labor Day weekend is over, folks are making solid plans for Spring Break 2016! That’s a full SIX MONTHS away!!!My hope is that people will take note that Holy Week 2016 is ALSO SPRING BREAK!
I don’t know exactly how Spring Break collided with the Holiest of Weeks for Christians, but there’s nothing I can do about that, except to encourage those who make vacation plans to consider cutting it a little short to be back in town in time for Holy Thursday. Given the weekend before, that would be a full five days vacation. There are no holier days for us than these days, and no greater celebration than that of Easter Sunday. Remember, please, where your spiritual home is located, right here at 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, and make your plans now to be here so that Spring Break doesn’t trump celebrating the Paschal Mysteries here.
Given the sacrifice of the Lord for us, the kind of sacrifice that gave us the gift of eternal life, an abbreviated Spring Break doesn’t seem like much of a sacrifice. Please make your plans, but don’t lose these days among slopes of snow, beaches of sand, or lakes so far away.
I pray your summer was relaxing, and that your Fall is full of colors and a break from the summer heat. I pray for you, each of you, every day. May this message be received in the spirit in which it is being sent, with love for you, and a gentle reminder of why the Lord came to us in the first place.
God bless you in every way,
October is Respect Life Month

|Pray for Vocations
Let us pray for men and women who are discerning their vocation, especially CTK parishioners Stephen Hart, Patrick Friend, Joseph DeOrbegozo, Stephen Elser, Jon Miskin, Joseph Friend, Brian Cundall, Daniel Wendel, Ben Riley, and Brother Jacob Wisenbaker. Encourage them in their pursuit of God’s personal call by joining the CTK MOMMS Prayer Watch to pray for the intentions of each seminarian. Sign up to receive the Vocations Chalice to continue to pray for vocations at Christ the King.
